Glory be to Him whom thunder glorifies with His praise, and so do the angels out of fear of Him.
Abdullah ibn Az-Zubayr (RA) used to stop speaking when he heard thunder and say this. Thunder is not just a natural phenomenon — it is the glorification of Allah, as the Quran says: "The thunder exalts His praise, and the angels too, out of fear of Him" (13:13).
