Allahumma hawalayna wa la 'alayna. Allahumma 'alal-akami wadh-dhirabi wa butunul-awdiyati wa manabitish-shajar
O Allah, around us and not upon us. O Allah, upon the hills, the elevated lands, the valleys, and the places where trees grow.
During a Friday sermon, a man asked the Prophet ﷺ to pray for rain — and it rained for a full week without stopping. The next Friday, the same man complained about flooding. So the Prophet ﷺ raised his hands and made this du'a — redirecting the rain to where it would benefit the land without flooding the city. Anas (RA) said: "I saw the clouds breaking apart as if by command."
