Rabbij'alni muqimas-salati wa min dhurriyyati Rabbana wa taqabbal du'a'. Rabbanagh-fir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu'minina yawma yaqumul-hisab
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants. Our Lord, accept my supplication. Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established.
Ibrahim (AS) tied together four generations in one du'a: himself ("make me"), his descendants ("and from my offspring"), his parents ("forgive me and my parents"), and the entire Ummah ("and the believers"). The thread connecting them all is salah — established prayer that passes from generation to generation. Ibrahim built the Ka'bah; then he asked Allah to build prayer into his family's DNA.
