Bismika Rabbi wada'tu janbi wa bika arfa'uh, in amsakta nafsi farhamha wa in arsaltaha fahfadhha bima tahfadhu bihi 'ibadakas-salihin
In Your Name, my Lord, I lay down my side, and by You I will rise. If You take my soul, have mercy on it, and if You release it, protect it as You protect Your righteous servants.
Two possible outcomes of sleep: Allah takes your soul permanently (death) or releases it back to you (waking up). This du'a covers both with elegant trust: if You keep it, show mercy; if You return it, give it the protection You give the righteous. You go to sleep not knowing which outcome awaits — and this du'a makes peace with either one.

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and so have the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, saying: 'We make no distinction between any of His messengers.' And they say: 'We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the final destination. Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. It will have what it has earned, and it will bear what it has earned. Our Lord, do not take us to account if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, do not lay upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with that which we have no ability to bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.'
O Allah, You created my soul and You will take it. To You belongs its death and its life. If You keep it alive, protect it, and if You cause it to die, forgive it. O Allah, I ask You for well-being.
O Allah, I submit myself to You, turn my face to You, entrust my affairs to You, and lean my back against You, out of hope and fear of You. There is no refuge or escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You revealed and Your Prophet whom You sent.
