اللَّهُمَّ أَعْتِقْ رِقَابَنَا وَرِقَابَ آبَائِنَا وَأُمَّهَاتِنَا وَأَزْوَاجِنَا وَأَوْلَادِنَا مِنَ النَّارِ
Allahumma a'tiq riqabana wa riqaba aba'ina wa ummahatina wa azwajina wa awladina minan-Nar
O Allah, free our necks and the necks of our fathers, our mothers, our spouses, and our children from the Fire.
The Prophet ﷺ said: "In every night of Ramadan, Allah has people whom He frees from the Fire." The expanded version of this du'a does not ask only for yourself — it includes your entire family. Your parents who raised you, your spouse who shares your life, your children who depend on you. The last ten nights of Ramadan are the prime window for this emancipation. The word 'itq (freeing) was used for freeing slaves — you are asking Allah to liberate your family from the slavery of the Fire, the way a master sets a slave free. Make this du'a every night of the last ten.
