Allahumma ahillahu 'alayna bil-amni wal-imani was-salamati wal-Islam, Rabbi wa Rabbukallah
O Allah, let this moon rise upon us with security, faith, safety, and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.
Said upon sighting the new moon — including the moon of Ramadan. The Prophet ﷺ would address the moon itself: "My Lord and your Lord is Allah" — reminding himself and the moon that they share the same Creator. Four blessings requested: security (physical safety), iman (spiritual protection), salamah (well-being), and Islam (preservation of faith). It transforms moon-sighting from stargazing into worship.
