Allahumma inni sa'imun wa 'ala rizqika aftartu fataqabbal minni innaka Antas-Sami'ul-'Alim
O Allah, I fasted for You and I break my fast with Your provision. So accept it from me. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
A more complete iftar du'a that adds the request for acceptance. "For You I fasted" — intention is declared. "With Your provision I break" — the food is acknowledged as divine. "Accept from me" — the anxiety of acceptance. "As-Sami'ul-'Alim" — You heard my intention and You know my sincerity. The moment of iftar is when du'a is especially powerful — the fasting person's prayer is not rejected.
