Gratitude for Parents

Rabbanaghfir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu'minina yawma yaqumul-hisab

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established.

SahihQuran 14:41

This is the du'a of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who is described as an "ummah" (a nation in himself) and a model of righteousness. Even as the father of nations and a Friend of Allah, he still asked for forgiveness for his parents, showing that this concern never ends.

O Allah, make this an ongoing charity on behalf of my parents.

O Allah, bless my parents in their lives and their bodies, and grant them health and well-being.

O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being, pardon him, honor his reception, expand his entrance, and wash him with water, snow, and hail. Cleanse him of sins and wrongdoings as a white garment is cleansed of filth. Grant him an abode better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Admit him to Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.
