Allahumma allif bayna qulubina wa aslih dhata baynina wahdina subulas-salami wa najjina minaz-dhulumati ilan-nuri wa jannibnal-fawahisha ma dhahara minha wa ma batan
O Allah, unite our hearts, mend our relations, guide us to paths of peace, deliver us from darkness into light, and keep us away from indecencies — both outward and inward.
The full version of the du'a the Prophet ﷺ would say in his prayer, as narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (RA). It builds from relational healing (unite hearts, mend relations) to spiritual guidance (paths of peace, darkness to light) to moral protection (keep us from indecency). Family conflict is often not about the issue itself but about hearts that have drifted apart. This du'a goes to the root: if Allah aligns the hearts, guides the family to peace, and protects them from sin, the disagreements resolve themselves. It is the du'a for every family dinner that feels tense, every sibling feud, every marital silence.
