Bismillah, wassalatu wassalamu 'ala Rasulillah. Allahummaf-tah li abwaba rahmatik

In the Name of Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, open for me the gates of Your mercy.

SahihSahih Muslim 713, Abu Dawud 465

The full Sunnah when entering the masjid: step in with the right foot, say Bismillah, send salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ, then ask Allah to open the gates of His mercy. The masjid is Allah's house — you enter it as a guest seeking His hospitality. "Abwab rahmatik" (gates of Your mercy) is plural — not one gate but many, because the masjid is a place where countless forms of mercy converge: prayer, knowledge, community, forgiveness, and divine closeness. When leaving, the du'a changes to asking for fadl (bounty), reflecting the shift from spiritual focus to worldly responsibility.

There is no deity except Allah, alone without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is the Ever-Living who does not die. In His hand is all good, and He is over all things capable.

O Allah, praise is for You. You have clothed me with it. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil for which it was made.

Sahih

And I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. I am pleased with Allah as Lord, Muhammad as Messenger, and Islam as religion.

Sahih

Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.
