وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولًا وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا

Wa ana ash-hadu an la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu wa anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluh. Raditu billahi Rabba wa bi-Muhammadin rasula wa bil-Islami dina

And I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. I am pleased with Allah as Lord, Muhammad as Messenger, and Islam as religion.

Said after the muadhin says the shahadah. The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever says this when he hears the adhan, his sins will be forgiven." The adhan is a public declaration; your response is a private one. You join the muadhin's testimony with your own, then add three declarations of contentment. Five times a day, the adhan is an invitation — this du'a is your RSVP.
