Allahumma thabbitni 'indas-su'al. Allahumma thabbitni bil-qawlith-thabiti fil-hayatid-dunya wa fil-akhirah
O Allah, keep me firm at the time of questioning. O Allah, make me firm with the firm word in the life of this world and in the Hereafter.
After burial, two angels — Munkar and Nakir — will ask three questions: Who is your Lord? What is your religion? Who is your Prophet? Allah says: "Allah keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter" (14:27). The Prophet ﷺ confirmed this verse refers to the questioning in the grave. Al-Bara ibn Azib (RA) narrated: the believer will answer confidently, but the disbeliever or hypocrite will stammer: "I don't know, I heard people saying something and I said it too." This du'a asks for that firmness — the ability to answer with certainty comes not from memorization but from lived faith that Allah makes firm in the crucial moment.
