Allahumma barik li fi kasbi, wa barik li fima razaqtani, waj'al ghinaya fi nafsi, wajma' li baynal-hirsi 'alal-akhirati wal-ghina 'anin-nas
O Allah, bless me in my earnings, bless me in what You have provided me, make my richness within my soul, and combine for me the pursuit of the Hereafter with independence from people.
This expanded du'a moves from the specific to the profound. It starts with barakah in earnings — a smaller salary that covers more expenses, wealth that stretches further than its amount should allow. Then it asks for the deepest kind of wealth: ghina in the nafs (richness of the soul). The Prophet ﷺ said: "Richness is not having many possessions. Richness is the richness of the soul" (Sahih al-Bukhari 6446). Finally, it asks for the ideal balance: pursuing the Hereafter while being independent of people. Financial independence is not about greed — it is about freedom to worship without owing anyone.
