Do not say to them 'uff' (a word of contempt) and do not repel them, but speak to them a noble word.
Not a du'a but the Quranic baseline for parental treatment. "Uff" is the smallest expression of annoyance — barely a sound. Allah prohibited even that. If a sigh of frustration is forbidden, what about shouting, ignoring, or abandoning? The Quran sets the floor at zero tolerance for disrespect, then raises the ceiling to "qawlan karima" — noble, generous, elevated speech. Treat them with the words you would use for royalty.
