اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَحُبَّ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي إِلَى حُبِّكَ
Allahumma inni as'aluka hubbaka wa hubba man yuhibbuka wa hubba kulli 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbik
O Allah, I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of every deed that brings me closer to Your love.
The framework for choosing a spouse: love Allah first, then love people who love Allah, then love actions that bring you to Allah's love. A marriage rooted in mutual love of Allah is built on the strongest foundation possible. When both spouses love Allah more than each other, their love for each other is elevated, purified, and protected — because it flows through the most reliable Source.
Related Du'as
وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً
And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy.
Sahihرَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Sahihرَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Our Lord, grant us from among our spouses and offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us a leader for the righteous.
Sahihبَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ
May Allah bless you and shower His blessings upon you, and bring you both together in goodness.
