رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
Rabbish-rahli sadri wa yassir li amri wahlul 'uqdatan min lisani yafqahu qawli
My Lord, expand my chest, ease my task for me, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.
Musa (AS) said this when Allah sent him to confront Pharaoh. He asked for three things: an expanded chest (courage and peace of mind), ease in his mission (removal of obstacles), and eloquence (Musa had a speech impediment). For students, teachers, speakers, and anyone facing a daunting task — this du'a addresses the internal barriers (anxiety), external barriers (difficulty), and communicative barriers (inability to express yourself).
