اللَّهُمَّ فَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَعَلِّمْهُ التَّأْوِيلَ
Allahumma faqqihhu fid-dini wa 'allimhut-ta'wil
O Allah, give him deep understanding of the religion and teach him the interpretation.
The Prophet ﷺ made this du'a for his young cousin Abdullah ibn Abbas (RA) — who went on to become the greatest scholar of Tafsir in Islamic history, known as "Tarjuman al-Quran" (The Interpreter of the Quran). One du'a from the Prophet ﷺ shaped the course of Islamic scholarship forever. It shows the power of a sincere du'a made for someone by name.

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
My Lord, grant me wisdom and join me with the righteous.
Sahihرَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
My Lord, expand my chest, ease my task for me, and untie the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.
Sahihرَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
Sahihاللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَسَدِّدْنِي، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالسَّدَادَ، وَاذْكُرْ بِالْهُدَى هِدَايَتَكَ الطَّرِيقَ، وَبِالسَّدَادِ سَدَادَ السَّهْمِ
O Allah, guide me and keep me straight. O Allah, I ask You for guidance and straightness — and when you think of guidance, think of the guidance of the road, and when you think of straightness, think of the straightness of the arrow.
