Allahummagh-fir li ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu wa ma asrartu wa ma a'lantu wa ma asraftu wa ma Anta a'lamu bihi minni
O Allah, forgive me for what I have sent ahead and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have made public, where I have transgressed, and what You know about me more than I do.
The Prophet ﷺ would open his night prayer with this. The final phrase — "what You know about me more than I do" — is devastating in its honesty. There are sins you have committed that you do not even recognize as sins. Habits so ingrained you think they are normal. Blind spots only Allah can see. This du'a asks forgiveness for sins you don't even know about.
