O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, and do not lead us astray after him.
When someone dies, two risks emerge: (1) You lose the reward of patience by complaining about Allah's decree; (2) The death shakes your faith and you go astray. The Prophet ﷺ addressed both. Grief is natural and permissible — but losing your faith because of grief is the real loss. The person who died may be in a better place; the danger is for the living who are left questioning.
