Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illallah. Wallahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa lillahil-hamd

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. There is no deity except Allah. And Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.

SahihReported by Ibn Abi Shaybah, Ad-Daraqutni

The Eid takbirat — chanted from the night before Eid until the Eid prayer. Allah says: "Complete the prescribed period and glorify Allah for what He has guided you to" (2:185). After thirty days of fasting, you do not celebrate your achievement — you celebrate Allah's greatness. The takbirat echo through Muslim cities worldwide on Eid morning, turning an entire ummah into one choir of praise.
