Allahumma inni a'udhu bi-ridaka min sakhatik, wa bi-mu'afatika min 'uqubatik, wa a'udhu bika mink. La uhsi thana'an 'alayk, Anta kama athnayta 'ala nafsik
O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger, in Your forgiveness from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot count Your praises. You are as You have praised Yourself.
The Prophet ﷺ said this in his night prayer (sujud). "I seek refuge in You from You" — one of the most profound theological statements ever uttered. No one can protect you from Allah except Allah. And then the admission: "I cannot count Your praises" — human language is insufficient to describe Him. He is only as He describes Himself.
