الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ
Alhamdu lillahi hamdan kathiran tayyiban mubarakan fih
Praise be to Allah — abundant, pure, and blessed praise.
A man said this after sneezing, and the Prophet ﷺ told him: "I saw twelve angels racing to see who would take it up first." Three qualifiers elevate simple praise: kathiran (abundant — not casual), tayyiban (pure — from a sincere heart), mubarakan fih (blessed — multiplying in reward). Twelve angels compete over nine words.
