الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ
Alhamdu lillahi 'ala kulli hal
All praise is due to Allah in every condition.
The Prophet ﷺ would say this when he received news he disliked. Not just when things go well — in every condition. This is the hardest form of gratitude: praising Allah when the test is painful, the news is bad, and the outcome is not what you wanted. It is the verbal discipline of someone who trusts the plan behind the pain.
