رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي
Rabbi inni dhalamtu nafsi faghfir li
My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me.
Musa (AS) said this after accidentally killing a man. He had just committed the gravest mistake of his life — yet his immediate instinct was to turn to Allah, not to run. And Allah forgave him on the spot: "So He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful" (28:16). No penance, no waiting period. Sincere acknowledgment was enough.
